Providing a safe, affirming, family environment where families and children are supported through the power of community, nature, kindness, acceptance and education.
SAFE IS A RESOURCE TO: Foster parents, foster youth, neglected and abused youth, families in need, the Department of Children Services (DCS) and other local agencies and organizations serving at-risk youth and families.
SAFE's primary mission includes 1) educating the community on the desperate need of foster parents and foster homes in Middle Tennessee 2) connecting those individuals or couples interested in fostering with the Department of Child Services to learn more and hopefully begin their journey of certification 3) providing a physical space and location as a resource for foster families, agencies, organizations and other state resources to use to support their families, clients and programs 4) providing resources to foster youth aging out of the system, educating them on their options and benefits, and most importantly helping them prepare for independent living through life skill training.
As of May of 2015, according to AdoptUsKids.org, there are 8,146 children in foster care and 320 children available for adoption in the state of Tennessee. These children entered foster care through no fault of their own, as victims of child abuse, neglect or abandonment. The parental rights of those available for adoption have been terminated.

Friday, September 27, 2019
Join us for our 5th annual fundraising event, Fork & Vine, a dinner and silent auction benefiting S.A.F.E. (Safe, Affirming, Family Environment), held at Gratidude Ranch in Leipers Fork on Friday, September 27th, from 6 – 9 p.m.
The evening will include a 200-seat tented farm dinner in our magic meadow, fine wines, live entertainment, guest presenters and speakers, and our celebrity guest entertainer, Walker Hayes (www.walkerhayes.com). There will also be a silent auction. 100% proceeds benefit S.A.F.E.
S.A.F.E. (Safe, Affirming, Family Environment) serves foster youth and foster families in Middle Tennesee by hosting teen camps for youth in foster care, hosting free monthly birthday bashes for foster children, hosting its annual Easter Egg hunt for foster children and foster families, all while educating the community on the need for fostering and opportunities to adopt out of foster care.
Fork & Vine 2019 will specifically be raising funds as SAFE prepares to launch its rural independent living housing program for youth aging out of foster care and we can't do it without you! We are encouraging businesses and organizations to sponsor a table for 10. Individual tickets may also be purchased. Visit www.forkandvine.org to sponsor a table or purchase individual tickets.
